INTRA-ORAL CAMERA

The intra-oral camera is an excellent diagnostic tool and makes going to the dentist much more educational.  It is roughly the size of a large pen, and it allows us to take pictures of teeth from vantage points previously impossible with an extra-oral camera.  This gives you an opportunity to see exactly what we are seeing when you are open wide, and it allows us to show you areas that may need treatment or extra attention at home.  We have found that by allowing you to see these images close up, it gives you a better chance to ask questions and be a more active participant in the examination process.  It also is a great tool during an oral cancer screening, giving us the capability of capturing oral lesions for evaluation and comparison.
